Want to start feeling better emotionally while getting healthier physically?

We use fitness, mindfulness and group support as a tool to recover, and we want to show you how.

These tools could even save your life.

That’s how my story goes.  I’m Amy Clover and I've struggled with clinical depression and anxiety disorders my entire life.

For 27 years, I walked through life in a constant state of high stress and negativity. I spent most of my energy looking for solutions outside of myself. I tried prescription medications. I self-medicated. I got hooked into abusive relationships in an attempt to validate my worth, only to feel torn apart when they ended. And through it all, I struggled with my weight, which wrecked my self-esteem. People said exercise would help me, but working out bored me and I had to force myself to do it — which led me to dread exercising and eventually give up completely.

Eventually, my depression and anxiety got so bad that I didn’t even want to get out of bed.

I gained weight and felt like I was walking around in a fog all the time. I tried to boost my mood and alleviate the emotional pain with drugs and alcohol, but those only worsened my mental state. There seemed to be no hope.

Then I hit bottom: I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital against my will. Everything was taken away from me. But eventually I realized this event was actually one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received. Starting then, I was finally able to confront my core issues and face my fears head on. This is when my healing began.

However, it wasn’t easy. When I was released from the hospital I tried to find serenity and failed many times. Years went with no relief. Getting physically healthy and improving your well-being when you’re dealing with emotional stress is way harder than most programs understand or admit.

There were trainers and books and therapy and support groups for everything from getting fit to coping with stress ... but just thinking about all the work it would take to bring them together overwhelmed me. I didn’t know where or how to start.

But after years of research, training, therapy and experimentation, I finally found a way to get fit and happy — and even love the process.

I realized that when I infused mindfulness into my workouts and reframed them with a positive mindset, I started to feel stronger inside the gym and out. Anxiety and depression eventually released their grip on me and I took back control of my life.

Today, I’m happy and confident. I’m not just physically fit — I’m emotionally, mentally and spiritually fit, too. I work out because I want to, because I feel stronger and more resilient as a person when I do. It's my therapy in between therapy. 🙂

I want you to know this freedom and happiness, too. That’s why I created the Strong Inside Out Bootcamp.

Simply choosing to change may have been a struggle for you. It was for me, too. I applaud you for making the choice and landing here. Depression, anxiety and stress weigh us down, so much so that sometimes just getting out of bed can feel like a win. You might be skeptical that you can get healthy and feel powerful. You might even think it’s impossible.

But the Strong Inside Out Bootcamp is not like other fitness programs. Because I know how you feel. You’re anything but alone here.

I’ve developed techniques that will improve your physical endurance and strength while you buff up your positive mindset, lower stress and anxiety, and — most importantly — have fun!

The Strong Inside Out Bootcamp is the first-ever 30-day mind-body wellness program designed with depression and anxiety in mind.

We pride ourselves on actually being there for you and supporting you as you work through the sometimes difficult transition from wanting to change to actually doing it. Our sensitive programming is designed with a strong and personal understanding of depression and anxiety. Our coaches have been where you are and know what it’s like.

If you had told me 6 months ago that I'd be working out 5 days a week, even some days doing 2 workouts per day, I wouldn't have believed you. The Strong Inside Out Bootcamp with Amy Clover has really changed my life. The program had everything I was looking for: short body-weight workouts, mental challenges and I could do it from home on my own schedule with minimal equipment. I'm proud to say that I have never been more fit in my life. I'm now able to do exercises that I couldn't dream of when I first started the program! The best part is that I love the workouts — they are hard but not impossible, and just the right length. There are options to make the workouts harder or easier based on your capabilities as the Bootcamp progresses. You won't regret signing up!

The Strong Inside Out Bootcamp has literally changed my life. When I started, I was at the base of the pit. But after a conversation with my husband one night, a switch flipped and I made a choice that I was going all in.

The support in the Facebook group and coaching calls has been invaluable; it's been wonderful knowing there are people in the pit with you, battling right alongside you. The workouts were challenging enough that I broke a sweat and got my heart pumping, but not too hard to be overwhelming. Just a few weeks in, I looked up one day and realized I was feeling much better. The darkness wasn't gone, but wasn't around every single day.

If you make the choice to fully commit to the process, you will succeed. This also means recognizing that you don't have to do it perfectly. Once I committed to the program — even if I could only do one set of a workout — my life changed. Run, walk or crawl, but keep stepping forward and you will Rise Up, you will Sweat It Out, and become strong, inside and out.

- April Taylor, Bootcamp Graduate and Coach

Still not sure you want to invest in your health? It took me years of searching, trying, failing and finally conquering to create this program. There was a time when I couldn’t imagine being healthy and happy, let alone creating such a comprehensive program! But I’ve come a long way since then — and I know what works.

That’s why I created this program: so you can do what works, with guidance and support, instead of spending a ton of time trying to do it on your own.

You’re worth every ounce of effort it may take. Your happiness, health and well-being are the foundation for every other success in your life. Don’t wait. Don’t rationalize it away. You deserve this.

More About Amy

Beyond showing my clinical depression and anxiety who’s boss by going beast mode all over them, I’m a celebrity trainer, fitness personality and unapologetic nerd. I'm an elite trainer for Cyberobics in over 150 gyms across Europe and I’ve been featured on NBC, the cover of NASM Training Edge magazine, MindBodyGreen, The Fat Burning Man Podcast, Nerd Fitness and Greatist, just to name a few.

In 2013, I launched The 30x30 Project, a tour across the U.S. and Canada in which I taught 30 bootcamps in 30 cities to raise money for To Write Love on Her Arms, a  suicide-prevention nonprofit organization that’s close to my heart. The Strong Inside Out Tour followed the next year, raising thousands of dollars for teens and young adults who struggle to find hope.

It is my passion and calling to empower you into a place of strength and Light. I sincerely believe every single one of us has what it takes. You just need to be heard and guided to create the life you want.

The Facebook group is absolutely amazing. Sharing my wins and hearing that it helped motivate someone else motivates me; it's like a self-feeding loop. Being able to reach out for support to a group of people who understand my struggles makes it easier to share. I love being able to discuss in real time what's going on with me, and get input from everyone else on the group coaching calls, too.

I have to say that the best part about the Strong Inside Out Bootcamp for me has got to be the one-on-one coaching with Amy. Sharing my goals with someone and knowing they will check up on me is so motivating. If you can, I highly recommend coaching with Amy!

- Christina S.

Are you ready to take the first step with me? Be heard. Get guidance. Create your life on your terms.

I’m a beginner. Will the workouts be too hard for me?

No way! Every workout can be modified to every fitness level. That’s part of the beauty of the huge video library of exercise moves that we have available for members. We’ll recommend modifications for you right there in your program — and if you have a question about what any move involves, just go to the video and watch me do it!

I want to lose weight. Is this the program for me?

The 30-Day Membership program is not designed for weight loss, but that result is entirely possible. If you want a program that focuses on breaking the patterns that cause us to emotionally eat, sign up to be notified when Intentional Eating opens for enrollment.

What are the tracks and who are they for?

Rise Up is the track for people who struggle with depression, lack of motivation, low energy or overwhelm. The Sweat It Out track is for those who struggle with anxiety, high stress and impatience, and who get bored easily or have hectic schedules.

I’m not sure which track to join. I’m a little bit of both!

Most of us are! Go with the one that sounds the most like you right now. If you get one week into it and think it’s not the right track, we’ll be happy to switch you to the other one. If you’re a complete beginner to exercise, we recommend Rise Up.

How do the workouts differ for each track?

Both tracks include full-body weekly workout videos with Amy’s guidance. Sweat It Out is made up of short, intense H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) Workouts. They’re meant to get you the most bang for your buck in as little time as possible while directing your anxious energy out through movement. Rise Up features calming but challenging strength workouts with periods of cardio and rest. Designed to ease resistance and stress, we stay away from moves that amp up your fight-or-flight response and instead focus on slower, deliberate movement in coordination with your breath.

Do I need equipment for the workouts?

You’ll need a pair of dumbbells (we recommend one light pair and one heavy pair), but that’s it! You can get them used through CraigsList.com, or new for fairly cheap at Amazon.com.

Can I do the workouts without equipment?

Sure! You may have to do more reps or sets to make up the level of difficulty that weights would add to your program, but we can help you do that. Just know that you may be repeating moves week-to-week if you don’t have dumbbells.

What are Mindset Challenges?

Mindset Challenges are 15-day commitments to your mindfulness, inner peace or positivity. Created with your track in mind, each challenge will help you ease your particular struggle.

Will Amy be in the Facebook group?

Yes! Amy chimes in at least 3 times a week on weekdays. If you have a question specifically for her, tag her in a post and she’ll get back to you ASAP!

What are Amy’s certifications?

Glad you asked! Here goes: NASM CPT, NASM CES, PN1, Equinox Fitness Training Institute Tier III, ViPR, Kettlebell Athletics, Prenatal/Postnatal Fitness Training and Spirit Junkies Masterclass Level II graduate. I am not, however, a mental health professional, but I sure am a great virtual cheerleader.

How much support can I expect from the Facebook group?

You can’t even imagine. 🙂 We are proud to say that this group is the most positive, supportive, judgment-free group we’ve ever been a part of, and it's extremely active. We go to great lengths to ensure the groups are kept private and safe. Other members are working their way through similar struggles, so they’re eager to support you because they know you’ll support them! Plus, it feels good to know you’re helping someone. Beyond that, our coaches will be in the group regularly to promote mindfulness and positivity with their own prompts and updates. Even the shyest member will feel welcomed and loved in this group. Just reading stories and comments from others can help us feel less alone. How often you speak up is completely up to you.

Is the support you offer like therapy?

Amy Clover and the Bootcamp coaches are not mental health professionals. None of the programming, information or advice we offer is meant as a replacement for counseling or medical expertise. We know what it’s like to struggle and we want to send you many virtual hugs as you work through it, but we highly recommend starting with counseling from a professional before joining our program. In fact, this program works best in conjunction with regular therapy. We’ve helped many Bootcampers find therapists in their area or online, so please let us know if you’d like some recommendations!

I’m having thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Is this right for me?

We know what that’s like and our hearts go out to you. The process of rising up out of deep depression, suicidal thoughts or self-harm takes a time commitment and level of effort that we believe should be focused on completely without distraction from other programs. Until you’re further on your road to recovery and aren’t currently having thoughts of self-harm, know that our thoughts are with you — but we think you should wait to commit to a physically demanding program like this one. Taking on too much at once can be detrimental to your recovery, but we look forward to helping you when you’re feeling better and are truly ready. If you’re currently in an emergency situation, please call 9-1-1 (or your local emergency line) or The Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

When are the live group coaching calls?

Group coaching call times are almost always on Tuesday's at 4:30 PM Pacific Time, but they can vary according to Amy’s event and shooting schedules. Calls last for about an hour to two hours depending on how many members attend.

Are the live group coaching calls recorded?

No. We encourage vulnerability and intimacy on our calls, and we believe that recording them deters people from fully opening up to receive the support they need.

How do I join the live group coaching calls?

We use free video meeting software to host our calls. You can join from your computer or a mobile device with an app, or call in from your phone. We’ll send you all the info when you join!

What if I don’t like the program?

While we hope that we can help, we understand that personalities differ and what may work for one person may not work for the next. Try a week of the 30-Day Membership, and if it’s not for you, we will refund you in full. Email us within 7 days of registration if you'd like to cancel and we'll get on it right away. Whatever the case, please speak up for your needs and we'll do our best to address them!

Are you ready to turn your desire for a healthier body and a more peaceful mind into your reality? Let’s do it!
